Hi, I'm Marta.
I'm a collage artist based in Stockholm, Sweden.
My art practice is shaped by my work as a PhD researcher exploring the intersections of climate change, social justice, and collective action. I am interested in how futures are imagined, and particularly in questions of who gets to envision them, whose interests they serve, and who is left out.
Sustainability is also central to my artistic process. Working with upcycled vintage magazines from the 1950s to the 1990s, I create collages that give new life to existing materials while reducing the demand for new resources.
My collages reimagine the future through fragments of the past. My artworks explore our connection with nature, each other, and ourselves, moving between hopeful visions of solidarity and the realities of living with change and loss.
